Prison and Pastoral epistles

Prison and Pastoral epistles

Q Paul's writings in Romans and the letters to the Corinthians and Galatians give great insight into doctrinal (theological) principles that have become the basis for our understanding of the Church doctrine today. The Pastoral and Prison epistles give insight into ideas ranging from social issues, eschatology, and the responsibility of the leadership in the Church. Select one of these epistles and discuss what you see as the key themes for the letter. Shed light on the impact for the church in Paul's day and how you see this impact how we understand our own social experiences and understanding. You are to respond to at least on classmate posting. Initial posting are due by Thursday of session six. Responses are always due by Saturday at 11:59 pm of the weekly session of the assignment. Late submissions may be made up to 24 hours after the due date and time and are subject to 20% deduction. Contact the instructor whenever you will be submitting late work (use email or inbox messaging).

I have selected the prison epistle of Ephesians. In Ephesians, one of the key themes is to ensure that the body of Christ is kept pure/holy. The body of Christ implies the Holy church. Therefore, Paul is insisting on ensuring that the Christians can be able to imitate God to be worthy of being known as children of God. The position of Christ is also glorified in Ephesians because the church had been insisted by Paul to glorify Christ by developing strong faith in Him. Ephesians also indicates that there had been a transition in the old covenants after the coming of Christ. There had been emphasis/significance laid on the authority of Paul to evangelize.
